This Cabin & Timber project spanned nearly three years and involved over a dozen buildings. The main focus was on the CCC era Log Lodge, the stone pavilions in the Sunken Garden, the CCC era Caretaker’s Home, the Peace Garden Administrative offices and the current Peace Garden CEO’s residence. Restoration of the Log Lodge included marking, mapping and removing all original tongue and groove flooring, removing original floor decking and trusses, excavating the Lodge basement and installing drain tile plus pumps, mold remediation, constructing a climate controlled crawl space, repairing failed field stone foundation, re installing and then refinishing original flooring, sand blasting and refinishing the log exterior, re modeling the CCC era kitchen, up grading electrical wiring and plumbing, constructing an exterior cellar entrance, installing new period correct rain gutters, tuck pointing both original field stone fireplaces and repairing or replacing original cedar shake roofing.
