This Cabin & Timber project spanned four years and involved a total of 15 buildings on a 110 acre parcel. Six of the original WPA era buildings were fully restored, the other buildings, including a swimming pool, were demolished. The restoration process involved moving two of the buildings to new foundations, repairing and replacing rotten logs, installing new shingles, constructing a modern insulated roof system for the main lodge, hand sanding and refinishing the interior and exterior of each building, chinking the interior and exterior of each building, hand sanding and refinishing the wooden floors in each building, glazing the windows in each building, constructing a new access road, connecting the site to electricity, reviving an abandoned water well system, burying new electrical lines, burying new water lines, installing three wood burning stoves, building a climate controlled crawl space under the main lodge, as well as installing modern plumbing and electrical wiring. This work was completed year round, without winter break. This sometimes required site access to be gained via snow mobile, or during periods of extreme flooding, required site access to be gained by ATV or boat.
