The Hunkler Timber Frame Barn was originally constructed in 1895 near a small town called Pataskala, Ohio. At the time it was built no one knew that the ground under it would be valueable. In 2002 the barn was dismantled so that the gravel located below it could be mined. Before the building was finally removed from the site, it resembled a castle surrounded by a moat. All the land around it had been excavated, leaving the barn sitting all alone on 70 foot high peninsula of grass and sand.
